Understanding BMI Categories
Underweight

BMI Formula Explained
Metric Formula:
BMI = weight(kg) / height²(m)
Example: A person weighing 70 kg and 170 cm tall
BMI = 70 / (1.7 × 1.7) = 24.22
Imperial Formula:
BMI = 703 × weight(lb) / height²(in)
Example: A person weighing 154 lbs and 5'7" tall (67 inches)
BMI = 703 × 154 / (67 × 67) = 24.11
